This section will help you use elDoc’s File Sharing feature to securely share documents within your organization or with external parties.

Set Sharing Permissions

Before sharing files, make sure the right people have permission to do so:

  1. Go to Permission Settings.

  2. Select and assign the roles allowed to share files.

⚠️ Note: Not all users have sharing access by default—this helps protect sensitive information.

elDoc’s file sharing feature offers a rich set of controls and security options, allowing you to customize exactly how files are shared. You can choose to share via email or a direct link, and define what actions recipients are allowed to perform such as download, upload, or edit.

To enhance security, you can add multiple protection layers, including:

  • One-Time Password (OTP)

  • Additional password

  • Download restrictions

  • Expiration dates

  • Conversion of files into non-editable images

  • Automatic watermarks with user-specific details

Every shared file is tracked through a built-in audit trail, so you can see exactly who accessed the file, when, and what actions were taken.
