elDoc provides granular access controls for files, folders, and subfolders, allowing permissions to be assigned to specific users or groups. This makes it possible to control not only who can access content, but also what actions they are allowed to perform.
Available permissions include Read, Read & Edit, Delete, Copy, Download, Upload/Create, Print, Share, and Permissions Edit.
For hierarchical folder structures, elDoc provides additional permission management options:
- Inherit Permissions: Child folders, subfolders, and files automatically inherit permissions from their parent folder, simplifying access management across larger folder structures.
- Replace Child Permissions: Apply the configured permissions to child items, replacing their existing permissions when consistent access rules are required across the folder structure.
- Show Hierarchical Permissions: Display permissions across the folder hierarchy to understand how access rights are applied at different levels.
These capabilities provide flexible and precise control over access, collaboration, sharing, and document management across the elDoc File Management environment.
